Ordering Information


Orders placed through this site will typically be fulfilled from our shop’s inventory within 48 hours. Occasionally an item may be out of stock, in which case it may be fulfilled by our supplier and dispatched directly to you, or to the shop if Collect in Person was selected during checkout. We will inform you of any delays affecting your order as quickly as possible.


Items marked AVAILABLE TO ORDER are available on backorder and typically arrive within a couple of days, but can occasionally take longer to arrive. In the event that an item you have ordered is unexpectedly delayed for 7 days or more, we will contact you by email with a delivery estimate.

Any forthcoming titles available to pre-order are clearly marked with a red PRE-ORDER label, and the anticipated publication date. Typically, pre-ordered items will be available on or occasionally very shortly after the publication date, and in the event that we do anticipate a delay we will endeavour to keep you updated on the status of your pre-order.

Publication dates are subject to change (although this is an extremely uncommon occurrence overall). If you have a question about the status of a pre-order, please contact us.


UK postage costs (per order):

Royal Mail First Class – £2.95
Royal Mail Second Class – £1.95

Orders with a total greater than £50 will automatically qualify for free delivery (excluding subscriptions).

Please note that orders placed via our webshop can be delivered within the UK only. For international delivery, please email us stating the items you wish to order and your delivery address, and we’ll let you know your options for shipping.

Most deliveries arrive within a few days, however we are required to allow Royal Mail 10 business days to deliver within the UK. If your order has not reached you after 10 business days since we notified you it was on its way, please contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss how best to proceed.

If your order reaches you and appears to have been damaged in transit, or if you have received an incorrect item, we’ll be very happy to correct this as quickly as possible. Please contact us to let us know what’s happened, and we can make arrangements to replace the item(s) in question, and will provide you with a prepaid postage label to return the damaged or incorrect item(s).


If you choose to collect in person, we will email you to confirm when your order is ready for collection. Please wait to receive this email before visiting the shop.

Any items purchased via our webshop are entitled to be returned within 14 days of purchase, providing that all returned items are unread, undamaged, and in resalable condition. Please ensure you contact us if you wish to make a return, stating the item(s), the reason for the return, and whether you wish to make an exchange or would like to request a refund.

Refunds will be made using the same method of payment used when the order was placed. When refunding payments made using National Book Tokens, we may provide you with a new token for the balance of the return.

We will always aim to be as accommodating as possible when processing returns, but please ensure return requests are made as quickly as possible, and that the item(s) you wish to return are in the condition in which you would be happy to purchase them.
