Frequently Asked Questions
How will I receive my books?
New books will be available to collect at the shop each month. Subscribers will receive an email in the first week of the month to notify them when that month’s title will be available for them to collect. In most cases, books will be available for collection from within the first week of each month onwards.
I don’t live nearby, can my books be delivered?
Yes! Second class delivery is available for UK subscribers for a flat rate of £30.
We’re unable to offer international delivery at present but check back in the future as we hope to make this option available soon.
I’m unable to collect my book this month, what do I do?
No problem, just let us know and we can discuss alternatives such as delivery (subject to an additional charge).
What happens if I’ve already read one of the books?
Each month’s book will be a recently published paperback. However, in the event that a subscriber has already read one of the books offered, they will be entitled to exchange it for an alternative choice up to the value of £8.99. After the first exchange, any subsequent exchanges within a 12-month subscription will be at our discretion.
Can I give a Pages of Hackney subscription as a gift?
Yes, our subscription makes an excellent gift! Just select ‘Deliver to a Different Address’ during checkout and enter the recipient’s name and address, and include their email address in the ‘Order Notes’ field. Don’t worry if you’ve chosen ‘Local Pickup’, you will still be given the option of entering delivery address details.
I paid for delivery but my book hasn’t arrived
Delivery times can vary a little depending on the time of year and your location and most deliveries will arrive within a few days of postage. However, if you’re concerned that a book may have gone missing then please contact us so that we can investigate.
